Our nebenan.de colours are bold and confident, and an essential component in recognising it’s us in any context.
Core Colours
Our colour palette is anchored in a key set of 3 colours, strategically arranged according to the 60-30-10 colour rule:
Knallgreen serves as the primary colour, representing environment, sustainability, vegetation & growth. As the ‘base’ of the nebenan.de brand, this colour is often used as a surface or background colour
This is combined with the powerful and vibrant Deep Purple, providing a dark and saturated base tone that carries through our brand, even in situations with little colour. This is often the foreground or object colour
Then, an action colour that serves as a Disruptor/Störer: Knallpink. This colour is meant to de-harmonise, stand out in any situation and draw the eye. This means the colour can only be used as a sparse accent, and overuse must be guarded.

Support Colours
A set of highlight colours complements this essential trio:
Lavender: A vibrant and cool highlight colour, used for thematic purposes. Also the colour of our Supporters
Blue: A calm and unassuming highlight colour, used for thematic purposes. Also used as a theme colour for local business
Orange: A warm and bright highlight colour, used for thematic purposes
Vanilla: Used only for background or light accents, Vanilla is introduced as a subtle highlight, in situations where an alternative treatment to white is needed. To be used sparsely

Shades
Our Core and Support colours all have different shades, to ensure the right legibility and contrast in different circumstances. But instead of the usual array of 12 colour shades for each colour, there is a basic set of 2 main shades per colour — a darker one for foreground, and a lighter one for background — and 2 ‘exception’ shades for really dark or really light usage. Generally, only the core shades should be used.
An exception to this rule is the Base Core Colour of Deep Purple; it runs through all our communication materials and is specified in 8 different shades, that act as grey tones, but with a vibrant character.
